The Scion Aquatic Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Scion Aquatic Swim Club to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.
*Advancements into groups are always at the age coach's recommendation and Head Coach's approval.
Please call Head Coach Charles Nemecek, at 405-596-9102 or Head Coach Blake Shawn, at 405-401-4555, to schedule a free tryout, or click on the contact us at the top of our website to send us an email request for more information. Our Groups
Purple
Swimmers in the Purple Level will concentrate on the basics of stroke technique with little high-speed training. This level will focus primarily on kicking and body position to get the most out of a swimmer's motions with minimal resistance. Technique is heavily emphasized; coaches are engaged in teaching stroke technique, starts, and turns. In addition, swimmers learn how to use pace clock, which side of the lane to swim, and how to safely pass. Parents will gain greater understanding of our program, will learn more about swim meets and what it takes to host a meet.

Gold
Swimmers in the Gold level will have high value on quality of work (over quantity of work) done at a moderate to high pace. This level will stress optimal technique over a sustained period of time to ensure athletes are not creating poor habits with increased distance. Interval training will be introduced at this level. In addition, children will learn how to set goals and engage in a dialogue with their coach about what they will need to do to reach their goals. Technique is still heavily emphasized, and swimmers begin to explore stroke efficiency.

Senior Preparatory
Swimmers in the Senior Preparatory level will be preparing for USA and High School Sectional level competitions. A large focus will be put on generating powerful motions with exceptional technique for the duration of a diverse work out. Swimmers may still be exploring their interests, but as they age, they are starting to shorten the list of interests so that pursuit of goals comes into focus. They will work with their coach to put their vision into practice. It is important to stress here that at this age of development their bodies are changing, therefore technique is still highly stressed at this stage.

At these levels, athletes learn, and hopefully understand, the connection between investment of time (ability and results). It is up to the athlete to determine how important their dreams and goals are. They may also readjust their goals.
